Cherry Almond Smoothie Recipe

This smoothie is not only festive in color and tasty but also filled with polyphenols and potassium from cherries as well as healthy omega-3 and monounsaturated fats from flax and nut butter to support heart health! Potassium is an important nutrient to help balance sodium intake and heart healthy fats, particularly omega-3 rich fats, can support a healthy inflammatory response. Plus, fiber from fresh fruit as well as the nuts and seeds can promote healthy cholesterol levels too. 

Ingredients: 

½ banana

½ cup frozen cherries

1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt

1 tbsp almond butter

1 tbsp ground flax seeds

½ cup unsweetened non-dairy or regular milk
